Assisted Dying Legalised in Victoria, Australia

The state parliament of Victoria, Australia has legalised voluntary euthanasia.

Doctor-assisted suicide will be allowed in the state from mid 2019.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews, who became an advocate for euthanasia after his father died of cancer last, said the State had shown compassion.

The State of New South Wales rejected an assisted dying bill just two weeks ago by a single vote, 20 to 19.
